The Foundation

The International Baroque Music Courses bring together dozens of musicians from all over the world in Mateus, under the artistic guidance of Ricardo Bernardes, renowned musicologist and conductor of the Mateus Baroque Orchestra, and the pedagogical direction of António Carrilho, a pioneering flutist in the early years of the Courses. They aim to promote the historically informed practices of Baroque music, attracting professional musicians of high potential, focused on improving interpretative excellence and the uniqueness of each talent.

All students enrolled in the Singing or Instrument Courses will attend individual lessons and chamber music classes. For Chamber Music classes, enrolments will also be accepted for instruments not offered in the Courses.

Deadlines and Fees

Application period for the Singing/Instrument Courses:

- until 31 May: early bird/discounted tuition | 280€

- until 30 June: full tuition | 320€

- from 01 July to 15 July: increased tuition fee | 400 €

Application period for the Chamber Music Course (for instruments not offered by the XXXII EIMCM):

- until 15 July | 120 €
