She is Managing Director of the Casa de Mateus Foundation.

With Alvaro García de Zúñiga, she created the blablaLab Association, a laboratory of languages and artistic forms.

She was Vice-President of the Casa de Mateus International Institute (2010-2015), and a national expert for the European Commission's Open Method of Coordination group for the cultural and creative sectors (2012-2015).

She was also an assistant in the Office of the Secretary of State for Culture (2013-2015) and in the Prime Minister's Office (1996-1997).

Teresa Albuquerque graduated in Social Communication from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and completed a postgraduate programme in Cultural Business Management at the Dijon School of Commerce.
